Winter storm preparation
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions." — Proverbs 22:3
Prepare your home
TO HELP PROTECT YOUR HOME AND STAY COMFORTABLE DURING COLD WEATHER:

-
Keep faucets dripping slightly (especially overnight)
-
to help prevent pipes from freezing
-
Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate
-
Know where your main water shutoff is in case a pipe freezes or breaks
-
Set your thermostat to stay on, even if you are away

PROTECTING YOUR PIPES
Pipes can freeze when temperatures drop below freezing
Frozen pipes can burst when they thaw
Letting water drip and keeping cabinets open can greatly reduce this risk
In case of power outage
WE RECOMMEND HAVING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS AVAILABLE IN CASE OF COLD TEMPERATURES OR A TEMPORARY POWER OUTAGE:

Medications and essential personal items
-
Candles or battery-powered lanterns
-
Baby supplies & Pet supplies if needed

WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WHAT YOU NEED AT HOME, SO YOU CAN STAY IN SAFELY IF TRAVEL BECOMES DIFFICULT
